Our establishment caters to a diverse range of guests, including those seeking remarkable cultural encounters, family retreats, romantic getaways, corporate meetings, and personal holidays.

Situated along the Mbarara-Ibanda road, just one and a half kilometers from the Nyakyisharara airstrip, our lodge is easily accessible. Upon turning left from the main road, a scenic one-kilometer drive leads directly to our doorstep.


Emburara Farm Lodge is home to the cherished long-horned Ankole cattle, offering guests an opportunity to engage in the rich cultural heritage and traditions surrounding these majestic creatures.


Conveniently located as a base for exploring South Western Uganda's renowned National Parks and attractions, Emburara lodge provides easy access to iconic destinations. Kibale National Park known for its exceptional chimpanzee tracking, is a mere two-hour drive away. Similarly, Queen Elizabeth National Park, nestled within the Great Rift Valley, is within a two-hour drive. Additionally, Lake Mburo National Park, boasting elegant Rothschild giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and more, is a short 45-minute to one-hour drive from our premises.


For those interested in a trekking the famed Mountain Gorillas in Bwindi, Emburara lodge serves as an ideal resting place, conveniently located just a four-hour drive away. Whether you're preparing for an adventure or winding down after an exhilarating trek, Emburara Farm Lodge offers unparalleled comfort and hospitality.

Activities at Emburara Farm Lodge

At Emburara Farm Lodge, the primary focus is on the revered Ankole longhorned cattle, shaping its main activities around their daily life.

Depending on your preferred time, our knowledgeable tour guide will suggest activities aligned with the natural rhythm of the cows, from dawn till dusk.

Note this

  • Client’s  special requests can be arranged and catered for.
  • There is a full day package or half day package  (Morning or evening).
  • Morning starts as early as 6.30am while evening is 4pm. 

Visit the Kraal Experience

Get close to nature by visiting a traditional dairy farm. You can interact with various animals, take photos, and even feed them. Learn about milking cows and the milk process.


Cycling Experience

Explore the surrounding nature by cycling through equatorial rainforests. Enjoy breathtaking landscapes and spot wildlife like giraffes and gazelles. Stay for a couple of nights to fully experience the wilderness.


Banana Brewing Experience

Learn how to make local banana beer and discover the Ankole culture's use of banana plants. Meet with community members to understand the process and history behind it.


Cultural and Entertainment

Visit the Abamwe family project and enjoy cultural performances such as dance, traditional songs, and drumming. Combine your visit with a wildlife safari for a truly memorable experience.
